We left the hotel around lunch time and decided to eat there. I suggested Sofra restaurant, but Mohamed asked if I would be interested in a 100 percent Egyptian experience. I jumped at it.
He said I probably would not like the place but the food was terrific. Off we went.
He maneuvered his way down an assortment of back streets. When he stopped he told me to get out and he would park a little ways down. It was a very short walk to our destination. He went inside abd was told we needed to wait for about ten minutes. I sat on a high concrete step across the street, had a ciggie, and took a few photos. I also took some inside, but they are not good. This restaurant has seating for about twenty. The menu is limited to one meal. You get a bowl of marrow soup, a bowl of salad, a plate of rice with melt in your mouth buffalo meat, a huge pile of flat bread, and a bowl of potatoes in a sauce. I am sure, and Mohammed agreed, I am the only woman who has ever eaten there. What an experience. Sorry for the bad photos.
