Update on the English lessons.

Scheduling a time does not work.  I think it will just be an ongoing anytime of day thing.  Yesterday and today was the word fries.  They only know pomme frites here, and let's not quibble about the terms, types and age of the potato, or frying method.  We also did green onion, lighter, and ash tray (the last two for my benefit).  Showing photos on my iPad sure does help.

Today we went back across the river for more hotel shopping.  We stopped at a bakery, but did not buy any bread-was not impressed.  When we got back to the West Bank we stopped at Atta's bakery, a very small one baker shop.  The other day I bought some great rolls and some truffles there.  Today I bought more truffles, but he was sold out of the dark brown heavy crust rolls.  I must have looked terribly sad because he told me to wait.  He disappeared out back and in a few minutes came back with a tray of fresh out of the oven loaves of bread.  He showed me how hot they were by touching them and again said wait.  After a few minutes they were touchable and he bagged one for me.

Several new guests arrived today, but two very interesting ones will arrive tomorrow.  Two female archaeologists from the UK will be here for two weeks.

Samm, I am still watching  and enjoying the birds, even though I do not know most of their names.  Today when we were driving we went by a farm field that had been harvested and there were maybe sixty or more white birds enjoying a meal.  I asked what they were-ibis.

The orange blossoms are falling from the tree that is not more than two feet from my terrace and hundreds of soon to be oranges are starting life.

Lunch today was not a surprise.  I specifically ordered a plate of sliced tomatoes and cucumbers along with whole green onions.  This was to accompany my fabulous loaf of bread with a choice of cream cheese or butter.
