Late yesterday afternoon it was out for a drive.  We passed one on the cemeteries.  There is one for each village here in the West Bank.  This one was not in this village.

We passed by the house where Howard Carter lived.  Just up the hill from it was Lord Carnarvon's, the financial backer for Carter.  Carter discovered and excavated the tomb of king Tut in 1922.  His house is now open to the public as a museum.

The final stop was for a drink at the Memnon which was the first hotel on the West Bank.  It fell into neglect, but now the two young brothers are bringing it back.  The location is awesome, just across the street from the colossi.  The seating faces the colossi.
