Yesterday I felt up to going to the ATM to see if I could get any money.  There are no banks here on this  side of the river, just two machines a few Kms apart and from different banks.

The first machine we went to refused my custom.  The second machine was not working.  Next time Mohamed goes to the East Bank I will go and go into a bricks and mortar bank.  Here's hoping.

We then went to a friend of his who has his businesses right on the bank of the Nile.  We sat in his private area sipping a brandy, eating bbq chicken, and talking.  I never tire of the view by the river.  This property is close to Blue Sky, but a little way up directly across from the famous Winter Palace Hotel.
